As part of The Regatta Group’s wider sustainability programme, Regatta Great Outdoors, along with Craghoppers and Dare2b, is a platinum supporter of The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC).

This is a unique tree planting initiative, created in celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in June this year, encouraging everyone all over the country to #PlantaTreefortheJubilee.

Launched in September 2021 at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, activity around QGC has been gathering momentum ever since and as a Group, we have been lucky to be involved with many initiatives along the way.

In November, we had the opportunity to help a group of young unemployed people as they embarked on a new, specially designed Green skills training programme at Capel Manor College, London's only environmental college. The course will provide them with the vital skills they need to find jobs in the green sector and we hope that they will become a legacy to the great work of the Queen’s Green Canopy. We provided them cold weather gear to make sure they were warm, dry and comfortable whilst doing their practical training outside.

Also in November, we celebrated National Tree Week! Working with our partners, English Heritage we were able to show how they were celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with their own tree planting and one of their head gardeners was able to offer advice on the best ways to plant a tree!
