Order status page
Where it shows up
The order status page card appears on the customer's order status page, inside their Shopify customer account — the page a customer returns to when checking on an order after checkout. It's built as a Shopify customer account UI extension, a close sibling of the thank-you page's checkout UI extension: the two share the same underlying card component and the same behavior.
Why use it
Customers often revisit their order status page more than once while waiting for a delivery, which gives your referral invitation a second (or third) chance to be seen beyond the single moment right after checkout.
Where to enable it
This placement uses the same Shopify surface as the thank-you page — Checkout customization — just switched to a different page within it:
- In Shopify Admin, go to Settings → Checkout.
- Click Customize to open the Checkout editor.
- Switch to the "Order status" page (instead of "Thank you").
- Click Add block.
- Find the extension under your installed apps and add it.
Where to customize it
Every real constraint here matches the thank-you page exactly, because both placements are built from the same card:
- This app's campaign wizard supplies the copy and the order status page's banner image (including its own copy override, if set).
- "Show share buttons" is a setting inside the block's own panel in the Checkout editor, and it's off by default. Off, the customer sees only the campaign's banner image as a link through to the referral page — no heading, description, or form. On, the full card appears with the identity-capture form and share icons.
- Custom button colours are not supported at all. As with the thank-you page, this is a hard Shopify platform limitation: customer account UI extensions are built from Shopify's fixed component set, whose button component has no colour-customization option. The campaign wizard's "Button colours" field has no effect on this placement, and there's no workaround — this isn't a gap this app can close in a future update.
Common confusion
Treat this placement as a matched pair with the thank-you page — they share every real constraint. "I added the block but I only see the banner, no share buttons or form" means "Show share buttons" is off, and the fix is in Shopify's own Checkout editor (Order status page, not Thank you), not in this app. Likewise, if a campaign's button colours don't show up here, that's the same platform limitation as the thank-you page — not something specific to the order status page that's broken.
Common questions
- Is this the same extension as the thank-you page? They're close siblings sharing the same card component and the same "Show share buttons" behavior, but each is added independently in the Checkout editor — one on the "Thank you" page, the other on "Order status." See Thank-you page.
- Why don't my campaign's button colours show up here? Customer account UI extensions, like checkout UI extensions, can't be colour-customized — Shopify's button component for this surface has no colour prop. This is a platform-wide constraint, not specific to this app.
- Do I need to enable this separately from the thank-you page? Yes — each is its own block, added on its own page inside the Checkout editor, so enabling one doesn't enable the other.
- Can a customer see this page without an account? The order status page is part of Shopify's customer account experience, so this placement only appears there — if you want to reach customers right at checkout regardless of account status, that's the thank-you page's role instead.
