Widgets & Placements overview

Soreto shows the invitation to share in up to four places on your store, and — this is the part that trips merchants up — each one is enabled and customized in a genuinely different way. Two live in Shopify's Theme Editor, two live in Shopify's Checkout customization editor; two pick up your campaign's button colours, two structurally can't. This page maps all four placements at a glance, with a full deep-dive article for each linked below, so you always know exactly where to go for what.

Floating widget

A pill or tab docked to a corner of your storefront (bottom-right by default) that expands into the referral offer and share flow when a customer clicks it. It's the placement most likely to be seen on any page, since it appears everywhere once turned on.

You enable it in the Shopify Theme Editor → App embeds panel — it's a theme app embed, a single toggle that applies across your whole theme, not something you add to individual pages. Widget copy and campaign images come from this app's campaign wizard; position, offset, tab height, and the embed's own accent colour setting live in the Theme Editor. That accent colour setting is worth knowing about early: if it's set, it overrides your campaign's button colours for this placement. Full detail in Floating widget.

Inline card

A card embedded directly into a page or section of your store, such as the product or account page, rather than floating over the content.

You enable it in the Shopify Theme Editor, by adding the "Soreto Widget" app block to a section on a specific template — it can be added to more than one template if you want it in multiple places. Like the floating widget, copy and images come from the campaign wizard, and the Theme Editor controls the block's position and its own accent colour. Unlike the floating widget, though, that accent colour only ever affects a small eyebrow badge — never the Continue button — so your campaign's button colours always apply here. Full detail in Inline card.

Thank-you page

A card shown to the customer immediately after checkout, on Shopify's Thank-you page. It's built as a Shopify checkout UI extension, a different kind of surface entirely from the Theme Editor placements above.

You enable it in Shopify Admin → Settings → Checkout → Customize, on the "Thank you" page, by adding the block from your installed apps. Once added, its settings panel includes a "Show share buttons" toggle that's off by default — while off, customers see only your campaign's banner image, not the full share form. Custom button colours aren't supported on this placement at all, for reasons covered in full in Thank-you page.

Order status page

A card shown on the customer's order status page inside their Shopify customer account. It's a close sibling of the thank-you page, built as a customer account UI extension that shares the same card and the same behavior.

You enable it in the same Shopify Admin → Settings → Checkout → Customize editor, switched to the "Order status" page instead. Everything else matches the thank-you page exactly: "Show share buttons" is off by default, and custom button colours aren't supported. Full detail in Order status page.

Button colours: which placements actually support them

This is the single fact worth remembering out of this whole collection:

PlacementSupports campaign button colours?
Floating widgetYes — unless the Theme Editor's own accent colour is set, which overrides it
Inline cardYes, always
Thank-you pageNo — a hard Shopify platform limitation, not something this app can change
Order status pageNo — same platform limitation as the thank-you page

Two of Soreto's four placements support your campaign's button colours, and two structurally cannot, no matter how the wizard is configured. If a campaign's colours don't seem to be showing up somewhere, check which of these four placements you're looking at first — the deep-dive articles above explain exactly why in each case.
